CRAIG JACKS: WAITING FOR MY ANGEL
Another Brilliant album from another inspired songsmith! You may know Mr. Jacks from the Point Roberts Arts & Music Festival (every B.C. Day long weekend) and the sadly departed Utopia Parkway Recording Studios. This album has all the good spirit of the festival and his former studio. From the memorable melody of the title track, to the jovial, spunky feel of "Hot Set In The Old Town", to the Steve Earle shift of "Make Up Your Mind", to the open road reprieve of "Burnin' Tires" and "Barroom Dreams", to the gorgeous "Cubans In Texas" instrumental, to the more serious tone of "Indian Town", this is another CD you shouldn't let escape your sight. If you don't see it in the store, order it through his site: www.craigjacks.com

From the Similkameen Spotlight
by Carla Clark
Recording artist Craig Jacks is a rare talent that combines everything we like best about our favorite roots performers. This music has a unique slant on the Americana genre, having the sophistication that appeals to urbanites, with the roots integrity that most folk crave.
Jacks' voice has an aged-in-the-wood maturity blended with a warm top end. A mesmerizing stage presence with rugged good looks, Jacks is capable of captivating his audience with evocative lyrics and melodic guitar licks. A seasoned songwriter who combines feeling and insight which earned him a publishing deal via Rondor Music International in Los Angeles. Signed to a seven album deal in the 90s on A&M which somehow got lost in the corporate mergers craze, Craig has since changed genres and re-emerged with a much more down-home [simple and direct?] songwriting style.
Drawing from a large catalog of both original and popular cover songs, Craig Jacks and the Mighty Jackalopes deliver everything from cafe intimacy to foot stomping country rock in such diverse venues as festivals, bars, and concerts.
Craig Jacks' songwriting and sound has been compared to people like Lucinda Williams, Neil Young, and Steve Earle. What brings the crowds out time and time again is his good-natured twisted humor and "spirit cowboy" profundity.
This group has gained a loyal following around Vancouver and all over British Columbia with their new album "Waiting For My Angel", and are currently embarking on an extensive tour of Canada and the United States.
Craig Jacks, along with John Shepp and sometimes Craig McCaul, can create the most sublime mix of atmospheric fretwork.
Stay tuned to catch this group who are coming again soon to the area.
